Name: France Door: Left Canon: Axis Powers Hetalia Canon Point: Modern day Age: Dirt. Looks to be around 26. Appearance: x | x | x * Finding him with both eyes open in official art: the new Mission Impossible History: Wikia & wikipedia Personality: In A Nutshell A confident, sociable proxy for nation-kind vs A stubborn, petty, and gratuitous old fart. This should be fun. On one hand, France does have a wealth of good qualities. He is immensely proud of the nation he has become even though the journey to this point hasn't been an easy one. He is incredibly faithful to his citizens and their hardships, shown in strips depicting the Revolution where he tells his fellow peers that he is nothing without his people. Often, he is depicted as being out in public conversing openly with his citizens, showing a continued fidelity to them. That sense of kinship extends to nations as well, some of which he openly encourages to refer to him as their big brother. Sometimes it actually works, too! France is shown to be quite sentimental, sometimes to the point of pining while sitting back and watching young families walking in the streets of Paris. He's the perfect example of the type to be noticed the moment they enter the room. He carries himself with a certain eloquence and grace. France seems to be the type that thrives in a group setting where he can both showcase his talents as a natural host and socialize in general. He has a difficult time finding a stranger in the room and his communication skills fall into two categories: Flirting and boasting, both of which fall under his gratuitous nature. He does not shy away when he finds something or someone beautiful, and he finds many, many things beautiful. He does not cut corners in how he addresses any interest which has earned him quite the reputation among his peers as being an insufferable player. While he is indeed a rather free spirit, it should be noted that he is not the kind of man to overstep the comfort of someone he is pursuing. After all, he is the nation of love and prides himself as being a thoughtful partner, not an intimidating one. Speaking of knowing when he's in a room, France is quite opinionated. He's the kind of guy that will argue on why the sky is blue until it's dusk and the original thought spurring the debate has long since been forgotten. It's the mark of a great mind rather than a pointless circular argument from a stubborn old man that refuses to shut up! He wants to be heard the moment he has something to say but that doesn't stop him from criticizing those that butt into conversations. Some people put in their two cents. France puts in the entire dollar. Euro. Whatever. He is openly critical of many things and tends to overreact when he is taken by surprise or feels like he's been wronged in some way. At times he holds grudges and brings up past offenses simply to argue, rather than finding closure. You have to wonder if it's him liking the sound of his own voice (which would NOT be a surprise) or simply finding pleasure in getting the last word in. Is it petty to argue over the past? Sure. Does France seem to show signs of repenting for his superficial ways? Not often, but sometimes. He is not heartless. He's a passionate man. It's why he conducts himself as he does – sometimes loud and unapologetic, other times thoughtfully and subdued. He takes his duty as a nation seriously and puts a great deal of effort into continuing to strive for the benefit of his people. Powers and Abilities: Immortality: General nation perk here; as long as his citizens and government are holding up he will continue on without a hitch. Healing: Ties in with the semi-immortal thing he has going on. The stronger his nation is, the faster he heals from any injury. Any fatal injuries are only temporarily fatal. Tied to the regenerative powers all nations seem to have, he is also very slow to age. He's literally as old as dirt and only appears to look 26. Weaponry: He spent much of his youth and adolescence in battle. Fencing is still a thing in France, so certainly he can swish and flick. Inventory: Pierre: A man needs his faithful pet bird and messenger. Reading glasses: He's old. He needs help reading the newspaper. A very, very worn copy of Les Miserables: INSPIRATIONAL READING.
