    « CHARACTER INFORMATION »

Character: France ( Francis Bonnefoy )
      Canon: Hetalia
Canon point: Modern day. 2019. I'm not touching 2020 with a pitchfork.
      OU or AU?: OU
Age: Old. His physical appearance is “26” in canon but Hima doesn't know what a 26 year old looks like. I'd peg him more mid-30s.
Species: Personified nation and official Hetalia DILF.

AU clarification: His time in Duplicity was challenging. The caste system was heavily against his own beliefs of equality. D/s dynamics are chill until you're being forced to do it, which is why he avoided finding a partner to contract with for as long as possible. Of course there was debauchery but there was also a fair amount of angst (with his shaky relationship with a beloved rival) and event-based trauma. As a nation, he is better built for enduring and recovering from this sort of stuff, so there is no long-lasting issues from his time there.

      Disposition:
Sociable: France doesn't know a stranger if he can help it. He thrives most when surrounded by people, even when he isn't directly interacting with other characters. France is depicted as being an eccentric, brotherly figure to other nations, offering advice and gifts to those he's fond of, ie:America being given the Statue of Liberty to commemorate his bicentennial. He is a host and entertainer, finding great amusement in throwing parties – the bigger, the better. France keeps himself busy. Do not worry about France gossiping with half the room. Worry about when he is quiet.

When he's not taking on odd jobs to charm tourists and stimulate his economy, he's being an odd little duck enjoying art galleries, coffee shops, and staring at his reflection in the Seine. This man was a hipster before hipsters were a thing. France exudes an easy confidence that makes him rather charming and magnetic. He stands for what he believes in. Sometimes he does so in an embarrassing manner. That's part of his charm. He is a storyteller.

Opinionated: He is as bad at keeping his nose out of other people's affairs as he is with holding his tongue. He is not shy about expressing his opinions to those that will listen to him. One of France's most notable hobbies is striking. As a nation, he is duty-bound to the hardships of his citizens and is compelled to be the voice of change. That's not to say that all of his opinions are deeply profound. Sometimes the man just wants to passionately lament about the importance of school uniforms.

Romantic: He is a serial-romantic that has a very questionable ability to summon roses out of thin air. France is the nation of love and he's quite comfortable with expressing his softer side. He has earned a reputation for being boldly seductive. If he has even the smallest inkling of attraction toward someone (nation, human, sexy domme alien) he will be very open about it. In canon, he's incredibly touchy, even when it's merely platonic. If his advances are not wanted he will respect that. “You cannot force love.”

Petty: An old dog cannot learn new tricks. For France, being an older nation, he spent centuries picking battles with surrounding nations, most of the time in an effort to expand his glorious cultural horizon. No better example of petty squabbling can be made than with his relationship with England. They've been at each other's necks for so long that they still get into a bit of roughhousing for the littlest thing. A more pertinent example of his petty grudge against his neighbor would be aiding America in his independence. He was on the verge of revolution himself but NAH, HAVE SOME SHIPS AND LAFAYETTE. Don't cross him; he will steal your younger sibling figure.

Suitability: He will react in two distinct stages; wariness and avid exploration. His main goals, at least starting off, revolve around around gathering information about the customs and mechanics of this world and finding familiar faces if they're present. France is very curious, very social – and while he is very off-put with the existence of bodily transformation and gembonded powers – he will not seclude himself. The one thing he won't have a problem with is Synchrony; France is an amorous nation and isn't hung up on having numerous partners. He's more than happy to offer help to those that may be more shy with physical affection. Camaraderie.

Condition upon arrival: Healthy. France is a very robust guy...

      Abilities:

      Immortality:

Or rather, perceived immortality. A nation's vitality is heavily influenced by several things: its citizens, government, and economy. Nations that have issues with their economies are seen to have sickly moments, as an example. The big thing is their people; if their allegiance is firm to their homeland said homeland pushes on. France seems to be doing quite well for being as old as he is.
      Healing:

Superficial wounds are not long-lasting for nations. Get bruised falling off a ladder? No big deal. Break a leg while falling off said ladder? There are worse things. They bruise, break, and heal relatively quickly. Wounds that would normally put out a human are certainly inconvenient, but not the end. Or The End. Russia is seen to be able to remove his heart. Kinda..vital, but Hetalia magic! Lasting wounds seem to be tied to historical happenings: war, famine, government scuffles--that whole lot.

      Weaponry:

He's a pretty good shot. Nations  used to play a more vital role in combat, and given how much of his earlier life was spent in combat he only looks like a damsel in distress. He's a bit out of practice in modern-day but fencing is very much a Thing in France.

      Cooking:

You heard me right. I'm counting this as a power and you cannot stop me. Forget milkshakes; everything brings the boys (and girls) to the yard. It's not like he isn't charming on his own, but even the oldest enemies enjoy French cooking.

Inventory: He's coming with what was on his person on a typical day: Half a pack of cigarettes (1), a lighter (2), a now useless cell phone (3), the clothing on his back (4).

      Gembond: Sapphire
Gem Location: At the base of his neck. A nicely formed cluster.
